Our Sunday School is held in the vicar’s vestry during the 10.30am service for all children of primary school age.
We start in the main church service with the adult congregation and leave for our group after the first couple of worship songs. We then re-join the congregation during the final song, except for once a month when we re-join earlier for Holy Communion.
We have lots of fun learning about the Bible, playing games, getting to know each other and most importantly (according to the children) we always start with some food! We run term time only and during the holidays there are activities and games for children of all ages in the hall (parental supervision required).
All Sunday School volunteers are DBS checked, have undergone safer recruitment procedures and have completed safeguarding training in line with our safeguarding children and vulnerable adults policy.
In the main church we have a children’s corner with some toys, colouring and books. This is available for children to use during the beginning part of the service (under parent supervision) and we have sofas at the back of church if parents want a more comfortable place to sit with or feed young children.
During the school holidays we provide activities for creche and Sunday School in the church hall, however as our volunteers are taking a much deserved break, these do need to be supervised by a parent or guardian. The service will be streamed in the hall so parents can watch whilst supervising their children. Please see our What’s On page if you need to double check what is available for a particular Sunday morning.
