Services
Here at St Mary’s, we are a ‘multiplex’ church that offers a range of services.
All three Sunday morning services follow the same teaching programme. Past series have included: Encounters with Jesus; Themes in the Old Testament; The Emerging Church in Acts; What it means to be Community; Finding God in different circumstances of life; The Apostles’ Creed, The Lord’s Prayer, A Journey through Ephesians etc.
Every Sunday
8.00am BCP Holy Communion / Morning Prayer
Quiet and reflective, this music free early morning uses the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.
Morning Prayer is usually held on the 1st Sunday.
(Approx. duration: 40 minutes)
9.00am Holy Communion / Morning Prayer
For those who like a more traditional service, this service uses the standard Anglican services from ‘Common Worship’ and is accompanied by organ and robed choir.
Morning Prayer is usually held on the 4th Sunday.
(Approx. duration: 1 hour)
10.30am Morning Worship
For those who like a more contemporary, informal family friendly service, this is our largest service. Accompanied by the music group, the children join us for the first part of the service, before going to their groups (The Light Factory). The 4th Sunday each month is usually Holy Communion.
(Approx. duration: 1¼ hours)
Every Wednesday
9.30am Holy Communion
This mid-week, music-free Common Worship Communion service provides space in the middle of the week for quiet reflection.
(Approx. duration: 40 minutes)
Refreshments are served after all services, except Sunday 8am.
